Who we are

This website is run by DATAONEARTH LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17030682), with its registered office at 82a James Carter Road, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmunds, IP28 7DE, United Kingdom. We are the controller of the personal information described in this notice.

For anything about your personal information, email hello@dataonearth.com.

What this notice covers

This notice covers visits to dataonearth.com and enquiries you send us through the contact form or by email. Data that clients share with us as part of a project is governed by the written agreement for that project, not by this notice.

What we collect and why

When you contact us. The contact form asks for your name, work email, company (optional), the service you are interested in and a message. If you email us, we receive whatever you include. We use this to reply, to discuss a possible project and to keep a record of the conversation. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

When you visit the site. Like any website, our hosting provider receives technical information with each request: your IP address, browser and device type, the page requested, the referring page and the time. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure and give us aggregated visitor statistics (such as page views, top pages and countries). The statistics are produced from server logs; we see totals, not individual visitors, and we do not try to identify you. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website and understanding how it is used.

We do not use your information for automated decision-making or profiling, and we do not sell it.

Cookies

This website does not set cookies or use similar technologies to store or read information on your device. There are no advertising or analytics trackers, and our fonts are served from our own domain. If that changes, we will update this notice and ask for your consent where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf:

  • Cloudflare, Inc. hosts the website and provides our visitor statistics.
  • Resend, Inc. delivers contact form submissions to our inbox by email.
  • Google (Google Workspace) provides our email and stores enquiries and our email correspondence.

We may also share information with professional advisers, with authorities where the law requires it, or with a buyer if our business is sold, in which case this notice would continue to apply.

International transfers

Some of these providers are based in, or store data in, the United States. Where personal information leaves the UK, it is protected by safeguards recognised under UK data protection law, such as the UK Extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to standard contractual clauses.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not lead to a working relationship are deleted 12 months after our last contact with you.
  • If you become a client, we keep correspondence for as long as the relationship lasts and afterwards as required for legal, tax and accounting purposes.
  • Server logs are kept by Cloudflare for a limited period under its own retention policy.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, or ask us to correct it, delete it, restrict how we use it or transfer it to you or someone else. Because we rely on legitimate interests, you can also object to our use of it. Email hello@dataonearth.com; we will respond within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date at the top. See also our website terms.
